Our events, taster days and activities are designed to engage your students with practical and interactive activities and workshops. They'll have a unique opportunity to explore our fantastic facilities and campus, and start to imagine themselves at university.

Our debate competition invites Year 9 and 10 students from local schools to debate current social issues.
The competition helps students develop their understanding of democracy, government, law, rights and responsibilities, and how we live together in society.
These learning outcomes are aligned to the current GCSE in citizenship studies, and call upon knowledge developed within a number of subject areas, including history, religion, social and health education.
This is a chance for Year 12 students to experience life at university. They'll choose from a variety of interactive subject specific workshops to get a real taste of student life and further education at a university. Students studying a level 3 qualification are also welcome to attend .
We offer a variety of talks and workshops that help your students and their parents or guardians prepare for higher education. These include student life, applying through UCAS, writing a personal statement, and student finance and budgeting. They'll also have the chance to explore different career options though our career profiling tool Discover Me.
How to pay for university is a big consideration for many students thinking of higher education. This session explains what funding is available, how to get it and how to make it last.
Topics covered includes tuition tee and maintenance (living cost) loans, bursaries and scholarships, repayments, budgeting and how to apply.
This workshop provides crucial advice on the best way to write personal statements. Our team will guide your students by providing useful activities to prompt and develop their ideas.
We invite your students to two sessions that will prepare them for their next steps in higher education. Given by MDX teaching staff, they focus on the first weeks at university and the skills they need to succeed in HE.
As a compliment to these, our research team are running focus groups where you and 4 to 6 of your colleagues discuss how you prepare your students for higher education.
This session focuses on what your students can expect in the lead up to starting university including the week before they start, induction week and the first week of teaching.
They will also have the opportunity to talk to current MDX students who can relay their experiences of university life first-hand.
This session allows students to understand what it's like to study and be assessed in a university environment, including the specific language used by lecturers and current students.
Our lecturers and students will explain what skills and qualities are important for university study as well as the strategies for acquiring them. Your students will be then given the chance for self-reflection on their current skills and what they need to develop before starting university.

The North London Higher Education Fair is the perfect opportunity for you and your students to meet with a number of UK universities to discover more about the courses they are interested in.
Our annual festival invites you to join us for British Science Week and take part in interactive activities and demonstrations focusing on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
